About Ultima Mastering Studio

After my time at the SABC, where I got experience no money can buy in all the different genres, I went freelance and started UltimaMastering Studio. From then till now I've been mixing and mastering various projects in the studio.

I specialize in Mixing CD’s, DVD 5.1 Surround, Broadcast mixes and CD Mastering. 

My full attention goes into each and every project to ensure that the results are exactly what you would expect from a top class Sound Engineer and his studio.

About Me

I joined the SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation) in 1983, working at first in their music studios, recording and mixing all types of music from Traditional music, Folk music to Jazz to Rock to Classical music.

 Some productions I did during my time at the SABC were President Mandela's Inauguration live worldwide broadcast at the Union Buildings and The Johannesburg Pops Cd series. I resigned from the SABC in 1998 to pursue my career as a freelance Sound Engineer. 

• As a freelance sound engineer I'v done numerous and a wide variety of productions. Some highlights are: Live broadcast worldwide of the 46664 show from Johannesburg, Recording Fidelio Opera on Robin Island, Worldwide live broadcast of the Belvedere Opera Competition from Cape Town as well as the Skouspel DVD and cd series (2005-2015) and many more.
• I'm also a Live Mixing Engineer (FOH) since 1990. I've been mixing bands such as Springbok Nude Girls, Wonderboom, touring with Mango Groove (10 years) and Joyous Celebration since 2016. I also toured with David Marks to Woodstock in the USA and Joyous Celebration in Dallas Texas and New York. Wouter Kellerman in St Petersburg, Russia and Kuwait City.
  

Since 2012 I've been lecturing at the Academy of Sound Engineering (ASE) in Johannesburg.
